A unique opportunity to support WRINM

It's Nesting Season!
Please join us for our Spring Photo Shoot. You will experience a unique opportunity to take amazing shots of a variety of beautiful birds of prey - in natural settings.

This event is equally popular with both serious and amateur photographers. Enjoy Breakfast with the Birds - and while you eat, we'll give a brief presentation about Wildlife Rescue and the history of each of the birds that you will be photographing. Participation is limited to the first 25 photographers who register, so please register early!

Wildlife Rescue is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization - all donations are tax deductible.

education ambassadors

Under federal law
At the end of our rehabilitation effort, all protected species, are required to be release or euthanized. There are some exceptions for those birds that are not releasable, they can become 'education birds' or are registered to be 'foster parents'.

This is the case with all the birds that you will photograph; each one is an education ambassador for their species. Our federal and state permits allow us to keep them in captivity as long as they participate in education programs. All of them have some type of permanent disability that prevents us from releasing them back into their natural habitats.

At the Photo Wild event, we will provide a handout that identifies each bird species and describes each of the bird's history with Wildlife Rescue of New Mexico.

New ambassadors

Northern Pygmy-Owl
(Glaucidium gnoma) - with false eye-spots typical of all pygmy owls.
