What you may not realize is how much work, time and money that is involved in this endeavor. Others often see caring for injured wildlife as a form of entertainment. We'll admit our lives are richer for having personally known each animal, but very little of what we do is even remotely entertaining. The animals we see are suffering, and in need of complicated and skilled care. It is up to you to receive the training necessary to be of use to these animals. Wildlife Rescue, Inc. of New Mexico (WRINM) will offer different ways for you to receive the training, but it is up to you to follow through with veterinary contacts and support, proper housing and nutrition, and continued training as you progress through the many stages of rehabilitation. The cost in both money and time can be high, so you must be sure that this is something you want to do. Consulting with experienced rehabilitators is recommended.
